I have no idea. I found this recording on a blues compilation album, but there was no info about the date, place nor the musicians. It could be Russel Jackson, but I'm not sure

My favourite version also off a blues sampler compilation. Just love the laid back bass playing in this. Simplicity is perfection. Someone suggested to me that it might be Jerry Jemmott but whoever it is what a great job. Thanks for sharing these transcriptions. I've just come over from BassChat and am browsing through a few I'd like to add to my repertoire. Lovely job you've done.

I believe this version is from The "A Night in Cannes" CD - Pat Metheny / The Heath Brothers / The Dave Brubeck Quartet / B.B. King – A Night In Cannes. I also heard it first on a blues compilation CD and always wondered where it was from, until I found it on that CD.

Though if you look at Discogs, there have been LP's under various names like: Pat Metheny, The Heath Brothers, B.B. King, The Dave Brubeck Quartet – Live From Midem - Kool Jazz 1983.. etc. Would love there to be a full concert released of this one.

Thank you for the info. I'll see if I can find more info and recordings of that LP/CD

Just an update for anyone reading that is interested it looks like it was RUSSELL B. JACKSON as the bass player for this show. He lists B.B. King Live in Cannes, and the Live at Midem, Jazzfest in his discography (https://russellbjackson.com/discography). Managed to find the concert CD, but it is only 11 tracks, one of them a 13 minute long jam with King / Brubeck. Well worth checking out. I wonder if B.B. King's actual set was longer than this CD release.
