Hi, curious why in the intro, the high D and E after the open D string are played on frets 7 and 9 of the G string, rather than frets 12 and 14 of the D string? Both sound good, just wondering if there is a reason behind the fingering, or if it's a preference. Thanks so much for your site!!! Rekindling my love of bass.

Just a personal preference, as tabs always are. The sound will be a bit more consistent when the D & E are played on the same string as the G. But, there's nothing wrong with your suggestion.
