Leon Sylvers did not play this bassline. This was played by Wayne Braithwaite who was the main bass player for the producers Kashif and Paul Lawrence Jones who produced The other side of the rainbow. (They also had produced albums for Howard Johnson,Evelyn King, Lillo Thomas,Freddie Jackson Etc). Wayne Braithwaite is a very underrated yet prolific player and Mind up Tonight is one of his standout basslines however he also played on Billy Oceans 'Love Zone' and has a great basslines on Lew Kirtons 'Just can't get enough' and Melba Moores 'Lets stand together'. Please can you correct this so he gets the recognition he deserves. Thanks.

You're absolutely correct. Both Wayne Brathwaite and Michael Dunlap played on this album. Wayne on this track. Thank you for pointing out the mistake.

Nice work. I'm curious: why does the tab version seem to be for a down-tuned bass, given it doesn't feature any open strings or anything?

Hello Nathan, I did it because of the key the song is played in, Ebm. But it isn't really necessary. When I have time, I will make a 2nd tab in standard tuning, so you can choose.
